Executive Gathering Showcases How Technology, Data and Operational Excellence Are Strengthening Florida’s Resilience
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. — South Florida Tech Hub and Florida Power & Light Company (FPL), a subsidiary of NextEra Energy, recently convened regional technology, business, government and community leaders for an exclusive executive briefing and behind-the-scenes look at how innovation, technology and operational excellence are strengthening Florida’s resilience. Held at the FPL/NextEra Energy JRA Campus, the invitation-only event brought together executives for discussions focused on grid reliability, emergency preparedness, artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, and the technologies that support real-time operational decision-making before, during, and after major storms.
As another hurricane season begins, the event highlighted how emerging technologies—including artificial intelligence, advanced analytics and real-time operational intelligence—are playing an increasingly important role in protecting communities, restoring critical infrastructure and accelerating disaster recovery.

The program featured presentations from FPL and NextEra Energy leaders Kate Cotner, Jason Price and Istvan Kereszy, along with a moderated discussion led by South Florida Tech Hub leaders Michael Middleman and Grace Kurian. Together, they shared insights into how technology, operational excellence and strategic planning are enhancing resilience and supporting reliable service for millions of Floridians.
